Only two ways to get that affect at #1. Still got air in the system or your not getting fuel supply. Your response of low fuel pressure at gauge after all that cranking supports the issue.

Old Magnet. I bled the hell out of the fuel system.... I thought the fuel pressure gauge only pegged green when it started and was running... Secondly I have plenty of fuel supply from the primary filter. Remember it is a brand new fuel transfer pump... I get flow to the top of the injectors but what has me worried is after all that bleeding and cranking #1 injector in the open position (meaning throttle or governor control)was bone dry.... but when I switched it to the off position fuel came flowing out.... I thought okay maybe because that pump was not in the correct position....
So to recap I bled through the wheel using the primer pump. Then closed that once the drain tube showed constant flow of diesel... Then went to the top and opened 3 injector while my helper was pumping. Opened nut enough to allow large diesel flow out then closed.... Then did the back 3 injectors... Tried starting her up and the video shows what I got....
I am going to go back today and throw in some risilone and oil and recreate my initial start up. I can access the glow plug hole so no need to continue bleeding...
If she starts huffing like she did before then 2 issues either I still have a fuel issue or the compression is very low....

If you want to try bleeding one more time try what I suggested in post 516.

Seems like there was some talk about heating up the engine by leaving it plugged in over night?
Just asking?

Could be #1 pump plunger is out of index with the quadrant gear. Move the pump to another location and see if the same thing occurs.
Just because the transfer pump is new "from the land of almost right" doesn't mean its correct. Pull the pump relief valve and plunger and spring and make sure there isn't some crap on the seat.
Even if the transfer pump is not making a lot of pressure during cranking there should be more than enough volume to where you don't have to supplement with the priming pump.

Hi George,
from time to time at The Dealer we came across battery disconnect switches that had dirty contacts and so had high resistance thru them and thus got hot when cranking the engine at maximum amperage draw.
If not tried as yet then may I suggest the following, when in the field we would move one battery cable on a hot switch so as to have Both cables on the one post at the rear of said switch--this bypasses the switch on the Earth system.
If the switch were faulty you may gain a few extra Cranking RPM which I feel may still be somewhat low in your engine.
Regards,
Eddie B.

But can't remember if it was ever asked.
"What about towing it out of where it is?"
Which leads me to a general question of, "Could it be tow started?"
Seems like a D6 would pull that on flat ground?

George I have to say you’ve showed very good perseverance over these last months on your D9. And you’ve learned a lot. It will run. We’re all rooting for ya!
Will the governor defuel on this particular pump without oil pressure? I thought I read that somewhere back in this thread. I wonder if somethings up with that when I was reading about how George had no fuel bleeding at full throttle but did when fuel shut down. That strikes me as very weird.
