Not hard to weld a quick coupler to a 3/8 fine thread bolt with a hole drilled in it. Any semi decent welder should be able to do it. Or just braze it.

By the sound of it the compression should be decent enough to my ears. There’s way not enough smoke coming out of the exhaust. Correct colour but should be way more at full throttle. My case backhoe smokes more trying to start cold at idle.
Can anyone review the video of George’s earlier in this thread where he shows the rack movement to see if it is moving correctly all the time? To my eyes it seemed to be sticking once in a while.

There is at least one other D9H owner on the big Island. There was a lengthy posting on the "Heavy Equipment Forum" about 2018 I think. Went by the handle "Gary 808" Operator, maintenance, fabricator. Major overhaul of a D9H. I know it's a long shot but you may be able to track him down and contact him. Very knowledgeable source.

I would love to find him... I will look into it....

One thing I have done was jump around on this and that and then this.... I am committed to doing one thing at a time and exhaust it and move on...

So Far
Injection Pump I am satisfied it works have replaced all pumps.
Fuel Transfer Pump New
Primer Pump New Replaced
All new filters for fuel (Primary and Secondary) and o ring and gaskets
Vent Wheel New Replaced
New Glow Plugs
New Cat nozzles for injectors (6)
New Starter and leads
New Cat 8D batteries

Next Step:
Compression Test.... Even before I pour oil down the glow plug hole.... I have wasted a lot of my time and others.... I will cross this off the list and move on after that...

Trust me the engine could have been redone by now with all this nonsense....

Are you showing any fuel pressure on your gauge while your cranking?

Two things I would try is pull the throttle all the way open and pump the hand pump while cranking it over.

Time to quit flogging this dead horse. Move on to testing compression or leak down. Should have been done long ago.

yes...gotta have enough compression to be able to heat that oil enough to start the fire...never thought getting a diesel started in Hawaii would be difficult...but thats coming from the Great White North
