Lying on the ground under the T/C, looking at the trans, there is 2 large hoses or pipes. one on each side at the bottom. The one on the left should have a screen.
Yep, every-time i get a bit skittish at the cost of parts i check the price of a new one a suddenly 2.5k seems pretty cheap!
And also do you really think a new d9T at the tune of 1 million in 50 years will be alive let alone be able to still work and be passed on to another family member for another 50 years... I think NOT..... Yes $2500.00. doesn't seem bad at all....
Thank you for the info regarding the screen.... I will take a picture of it so you see how clogged it is....

For your s/n there is no screen in the suction line at the bottom of the transmission. Replaced by a through tube with the suction screen relocated.

Not sure what this means OM... Does this mean it is located somewhere else and if so where to look? On the filter under the seat if I trace this back there is a union meaning a 3 inch section that looks like it connects to the pipe like a clamp of some sort... I thought this might be where the screen is but not sure. Any ideas?

That is the Magnetic Screen on the suction line coming from the bottom of the transmission going to the transmission pump.

Got it and as stated that was filled with crap and no way anything could pass through it... Is there another screen that I am missing? Thanks OP just a little confused an unlike before I dont want to start ripping things apart....
Is the suction screen replaced with the magnetic screen that I located already under the seat or is there another one somewhere hiding?

There are two magnetic strainers, one ahead of the transmission pump and the other in the line from the torque converter relief valve just ahead of the transmission oil cooler.

I found those 2 and both where clogged. Then to the right of the one is two filters on top of each other that I changed out. So to be clear there is zero screen on my setup. It sounds like I got each one of them.

I would remove the transmission cooler and check the tubes for blockage and the pump for the trans and steering clutches also. If it's not all metal pieces it may be steering clutch disc or brake band material.
