That is an attachment or a later conversion, pony motors were standard fitment through the next generation of machine well into the mid '60's and even later on the bigger tractors.

when you added the 0 i thought i may have missed a number 20A 0 145
they were stamped in in small letter stamps i peeled away about 1/8 inch of yellow paint to reveal another number it was a 5

20A1455 is the correct serial number does that change anything ?

i dont know how many they made in a years time but it might make it a lil newer

thanks Old Magnet

20A1455 moves up production to 1956. Everything stays the same.
All the 20A 977's had provision for direct electric start. Pony start was standard, direct electric start was an optional attachment.

Can't believe it fired up without changing the fuel filters and cleaning out the fuel tower. My 318 fuel tower was full of black sludge. The hour meter is on the fuel pump front left side lower. below the fuel tower. Sounds like fun.Where are you located?

That last number 5 makes a lot of difference. The first number made it a 54 model but with 20A1455 that is a very late 56. There were #400 to 1459 made in 56. catskinner
