Usual location, upper LH corner rear of the steering clutch housing and left rear of the engine about behind the magneto.

What did you find for a s/n?
For sure you will want to roll the engine over before engaging starter.

Not sure if batteries are still in it to show how they are connected but it should be 24 volt. After turning it over at least one full revolution by hand turn it enough to circulate oil and hopefully build some oil pressure before applying fuel.

thanks oldironhabit

i will try to turn it over a few times to make sure its free and oil is pumping

i have another question ,as i remember it has a handle that goes into the engine valve cover and exits into the cockpit ?
i have no idea what this does also it has another lever to the right,it looks like the main clutch any ideas?

Seems it still has remnants of the pony motor start. The lever is most likely the compression release. Horizontal is start, pull down vertical is run.
Lever to the right of what? Just to the right of the right brake pedal is the forward/reverse lever. To the right of that is the gear selector.

That compression release will be great to crank it over for oil pressure before applying compression.

wow you guys re a wealth of knowledge.

if that is a compression release ill be in business on the oil pressure

and yes there is a lever opposite the main clutch lever just to the right of the right break clutch

and wiring a 24 volt system i should wire in series + _ + _ = 24 on a 12 volt battery effectively doubling the cranking power

thanks guys im going on Friday if i dont get rained out . i might even get it home if it fires up

It looks like some one was trying to get a track pin out on the left side track you cane barley see it in the photo above one of the top rollers
this is the first track i have worked on on the pins . im thinking its a press fit how many tons of force will i need to push it out and push a new one in .i think it will still hold the track together
they only burned the part in the outside link . Not good for pushing but should be ok to load up with

Two 12v batteries in series doesn't double the cranking power, just doubles the voltage. Ah stays the same.
Without glow plugs a sniff of ether will probably be required to get it going.
