All,
I am sorry but I got my FIFTEEN and TWENTY tanks mixed up. My previous post with parts numbers is for the Big TWENTYs. Please forgive me and disregard. Also right now I am in the process of mounting the tank on the TWENTY so it is what I am currently thinking about!
I did use the same material in two strips across the bottom of my FIFTEEN tank rather than use just short strips. It gives the tank plenty of cushioning.
Just getting old and more confused I guess!

Bill,
When I took my tank off, only two straps were under the tank. There was no sign of a pad L 1396. Maybe at one time, some one made straps which wrapped around the tank but using the same material as the L 1338 straps shown in the parts book. Do I understand that yours only had 4-inch long strap on the corners? When going together this week, as I noted above, I wrapped the tank with the "muletape" (printed on it was Herculine P2300W) which I think will be fine for a non-working tractor.

The brass piping is a water drain for the upper engine block. I did try to put a temperature probe in that pipe but it was not accurate so I capped it off.

Bend some 1/2''emt electrical conduit and reweld to the flanges to fix the Ten lower pipe. Covers wouldn't be too much problem but no time with regular business to make any!

I really like all the resources on here so I just got a three year. I think its a very small price for what you can get out of this site."
