WOW, Is that dog for sale. It sure moved a lot of dirt. At least it was the only dirt moving machine I seen in the pictures. And the way he chewed that fence, rocks should be no problem. Have fun playing. ROTFL

lol yeah t have 2 of them they were running all around me this morning when i went up to get some pics
ill try to get some with the loader in them .i always seem to forget my phone when heading out to play :confused2:

hey guys

i just got my first job on my loader .had it running great with everybody's help on the brakes and the precombustion chambers
i have just put 5 gal of fuel in the tank and also replaced the in cab starter switch,i went up a large hill and was piling up some brush
when it seemed like i was loosing power then sounded like it was running on only 2 cylinders then it almost stopped i ran it to the top of a small hill to sorta level it
and i cut it off .
let it set a few mins and restarted it ,at this point it ran fine sounded good just as normal for a couple min then started the running on one or two cylinders then quit .
sorta puzzling i think its starving for fuel im going to put another 5 gal in and try to prime it up and also check the fuel line it may have a hole in it

any input will be much appreciated

Also check if you have a foreign object in the tank that can block the outlet. Any number of folks on here have had the same issue originating in a blocked outlet

Cheers,

well after cleaning the fuel filter out a couple more times i decides it would be better to go ahead and clean the tank out since most of the crud was rust and scale
i dumped the fuel and filtered it to get all the big crust out threw a cotton shirt
then used a gallon to flush the tank then filter it then flush again and so on till no crud was comming out.
then dumped and cleaned the fuel filter again ,filled it back with a rust buster type chemical and spun it over a few times with engine not running just to get it up into the pump lines and injectors
i let it set for a bit did some other stuff ,i had a cover i needed to replace for the track adjuster it was never there
so fabbed one up broke it on the press and also had to drill and tap the original bolt hole
i did try and heat it and kroil oil but didnt work just to rusted .
so anyway back to the fuel issue ,got her all cleaned out and refueled so i fired her up and sounded horrible like a gas engine dieseling after its shut off
clacking and raising hell
so i started bleeding the injector lines one at a time then bleeding them again at the injector it cleared up some but still had this weird sound on and off again like air in the lines
so i let her run for about 15 mins then bled each line again ,sounded better ran her another 15 mins or so and it cleared up ...................

Wow what a difference cleaning the fuel system made she would bog some in 3rd gear about half way threw a full turn. shoot not any more this thing is a beast
i went over to my pond area im digging and let her rip .she tore threw some dirt like no tomorrow i pushed up a dump truck pile of dirt in a few mins pushed a tree over no problem
i cant believe what a difference in power she has ...
i did not mess with the injector pump at all no tweaking there .i guess the fuel system was holding back and restrictive she was barley running
im very confident now i can do the work planned for her she is runnung like a top

Oh yeah, what a difference clean fuel and new filters make. I had the same experience with my D7 which was full of crud. The pre/mesh filter was totally blocked, it had fallen apart and so cruddy fuel from the corroded tank was simply bypassing directly into the filter tower. Judging by the old paper design, one of the filters in the tower was probably original and fitted in 1960 and the other which was of newer design was anyhow crudded up massively.

You might want to also check the air filter unless you already have. Mine (a dry element) was last replaced in 1972 according to the date stamped on its side and of course it was totally full of crap!

How on earth do these machines even start run when treated like that:)

Good to hear that your problem was in the end quite simple to fix. Like you the 7 took about 20 minutes to bleed out properly with lots of popping and farting but she now runs sweet as bro:)

im thinking very serious about adding another fuel filter.
any suggestions will be much appreciated

im thinking about bolting it under the fuel tank that way fuel will be gravity fed right to it and not to mention any rust or scale

i would preferr a regular car oil type filter ,spin on for easy maint and cost

i dont know the flow rate of diesel oil i would think it would flow better than oil but not sure on a gravity flow system .

also i would like to change the oil filter im sure its been several years since it was changed
are these filters readily available or should i change to another type of filter ?
this one is in a can on the left side of the engine beside the dip stick

keeping it clean
thanks all in advance

Should already have a pre-filter at the transfer pump.
Oil filter number is Cat #7M3800
