hey guys

the loader is running great i been working it some clearing some woods for a fence line

it has alot of grease fittings i gave greased them all except the ring of 6 or so in the floorplate

also the right side brake is not working very well unless under load the left side works good but the brake pedal is almost on the floor

i was wondering if there is any adjustment and where is it ?

thanks for any help

Hey Chas,

My guess is going to be you have band brakes. Open the rear compartment and see if you have two squarish lookin' covers to the right and left. If so, pull the cap screws and take the covers off. You'll see the bands, linkage and a big adjuster nut at the top. Sometimes the plates at the bottom rear that hold the ends of the bands work loose. If you're lucky, you can just tighten the bolts to make them fast again.

The bands can be relined if there's no meat left. To do so, you'll need to remove the larger plates the little square one is bolted to. Just be careful not to drop parts down the clutch well if you don't want to go fishin'.

If memory serves me correctly youll have to remove the floor plates and your adjusters are under two covers in front of the seat hopefully they just need adjusted because they are not the funest machine to remove and install brake bands on. Jason

well nothing to report so far but the weekend is coming up fast
i have all the floor plates out
also found alot of grease fitting under there
i have the linkage off and cleaned up but also threaded it about an inch and a half
since it was completely out of adjustment
i dont know if thats all ill need to do yet ,once i have the cover off ill see whats going on
with the band adjustment
im hoping its just streched some since thats the side the e brake lock is on .
The other side has about a half an inch on the linkage for adjustment
ill have some more in a few days

im also in the market for a ROPS if any one has an extra or plans/print to build one lots of trees in my woods lol

You haven't got to the brake band adjustment yet. It's under the covers. Your just changing the pedal linkage up top.

yeah i know im kinda worried about it ,i been working some crazy hours this week and last week
ill have some time off this weekend ,got some bush hoggin to do friday morning
and some other tractor work
hopefully ill be able to get to it Saturday ,there is only one lock nut there inside the cover to tighten the band correct?
i have been reading every brake adjustment thread i can find .
i seen one where a guy had the same machine as i have ,he ordered new bands took the old ones off and measured them
there was only a 1/32 difference between original and new bands thickness .im hoping in my case that it goes like that
i dont mind adjusting things to make it work the way it should
thoes cover plates are way down there i might have to end up removing the belly pan
im not really wanting to .

also it looks like they had a factory canopy or ROPS on this machine at one time there are holes in the fuel tank top on both sides that are threaded
to bolt a plate down .thats all i see tho .i could fab one up ill need some pipe what do u thing wall thickness on that should be ?
