Well my offsider is back so back into it we are. Bloody cold here at the moment. 6degrees this morning.

Fit plenty of dirt in front of that blade

Pony motor was being a jerk but a bit of fuel down the spark plug hole and off she went. Been topping up the pony engine a bit and noticed the transmission has gone overfull so i guess it's leaking in there somewhere.

Some hard ground was giving the excavator grief the other day so i got the dozer in and ripped out this lump

Short video of me trying to operate, fairly early in the day so not working at full rpm, trying to warm things up, but still makes a mess in a hurry.

Been trying the half decellerator trick but i think i need more seat time before i get slippery enough to do it successfully.

Boy oh boy she can push some dirt can't she??? She is lookin good. Makes me think my D9G is overkill for my project after looking at yours...

I am putting back the oil cooler ect. installing the thermostats and new gauge to not complicate things... Do going work there and keep it up....

Looks good, your taking it easy in the rock, you can have her full throttle when pushing a blade full though. Whats that really white rock? quartz? or just a type of limestone?

The bulk rock I'm pushing is sandstone. The big rock I'm sitting on, not sure actually. We call it allenite (or somthing that won't get past the language filter). It's ethire soft and powdery or hard and wants to come out in big chunks like that. Whatever it is, it was in the way.

Ok, it was shown around 1:35 to the far right on the video, almost looks like salt, it's so white.

Well if you ever find any let me know and we'll start a Canadian opal rush!

Dozer has been running like a clock. Pony has been behaving, have a coolant leak to attack where the pony plumbs into the head, orings on the way from cat. Going to renew all the ones on the air intake circuit too for good measure.

Put about 6 or so hours in today, used a bit of fuel but nowhere near what we thought it would. Maybe 150-200l.

A few pictures of our hole over the last few days. Few more feet to go, put the excavator back in and hopefully get paid!

Wow, that's not much gas at all for 6 hours - about 45gal? Did you run it at part throttle?

Cheers,

Hi, Misterskill.
Happy hunting. It's good to hear that the D9G is running well after all the work you have put into it. For mine, the Gs were the best of the oval track D9s. I am currently running a D9T with 57,000 frame hours. It is a real delight to operate. (That last bit is just to turn you green. LOL.)

Just my 0.02.

You have a wonderful day. Best wishes. Deas Plant.

Yeah, i think 55usgalons. Not pushing the machine hard. Only light ripping, maybe a foot at a time then push it out.
