Frank, what was sticking it together - just a rusty housing?

It seems the oil on the shaft turned to tar and caused it to bind on the clutch plate. Using the track pulling tool in reverse to push the engine and trany apart ever so small on each side. Till I could get some pry bars in the crack and put more leverage. Broke free after 2 inch gap.

Frank,

When putting the nuts, washers, springs on the flywheel while going back together, you might want to wedge a towel or large rag under the stud to keep from dropping anything into the clutch housing. I have yet to recover one of the washers that I dropped into my FIFTEEN while going back together; this after buying a video camera and trying to "see" it down there and spending hours "fishing".
Just a thought.

Jan

Frank,

I tried to answer your PM but your box is full.

Lots of us use John Hahn, (see ad in mag.) who does really great work on tractor seats.

Getting in contract with Cat Ten restorer- Call the Museum ( ask for Rod the Director) after checking their website for a number. I don't know who the guy is.

Is there a specific sequence other than starting from the middle working out to the ends in a cross hatch pattern?

Crank gear.

Pulley marks?

Camshaft gear

How should these marks be oriented?

Thanks

Frank

0 to 0 on the gears on cam and cranckshaft, on pulley: stipe 1 is top centre of cil 1&4, , other stripe is mag, is the timing of the magneto, 25 degrees before t.c. where points of mag will open.
