I took pictures of mine and sent them to the restorer. They identified it right away. I am going to send mine in so I can concentrate other stuff. Then it will be right and hopefully I wont have to ever mess with it. Good Luck on yours!

Called on Tuesday after receiving my pump on Monday stating it is done! Sent me photo's, I told him that could not be my pump as it is TOO WOW!
He said it was missing lots of internals but it is like new now!
Hopefully the photo will upload?

That looks nice, I wonder what they used for the valves, if there were valves available off the shelf, or did they have to do some machining?

I never actually asked him as I took it off with the intention of rebuilding but after seeing how nice they looked after they did them. I figured for a $100 they could fix it right and make it look pretty was good enough for me. When he told me it had lots of stuff missing plus he added a few extras, I figured it was good they did it because I do not specialize in Fuel Pump rebuilds.

That's OK, when I spoke to him a few months back he couldn't quite remember how he solved the valve problem but he said he thought it involved some machining, though for $100 you can't do it much cheaper yourself, I mean the kit alone cost around $50.

I was just looking at this thread again and took a closer look at that reconditioned pump, I see Mike from Then and Now has fitted 2 new filters into the fuel bowl, I hadn't noticed that before, plus it looks like he fitted a new priming handle along with the internal repairs to the valves, for the small price he charges, what just over $100, you can't go wrong by letting him fix your pump.

Mike

Might have to get Granny to mail mine over from the old country to get Then and Now to tart it up

Yes, I figured that I really didn't know much about Fuel Pumps and with the little extra cost over the kit plus what Mike had been saying about needing to fit valves and such. I figured "Let the Experts do it"!

Sounds like good advice. I have many other things to do on my 22 that I am better suited for. I will do the same as you. Ray
