Hello Packrat. Have you got a 1950s Kenworth already or are you looking. I have one for sale that is in good shape overall. It was parked running (engine just re-built) many years ago. I just recently decided to sell it and have been trying to find a price for it. Do you have any idea as to its worth or where best to try selling it. I was considering EBAY.

Nope, haven't found one yet. There seems to be plenty on the west coast but few out here. There was one on the BB in Sacremento that got down to 600$ but I just cannot justify the freight. I'm willing to pay more than that for the right truck. My best freight cost would have been about $4000 and that would have required some work to get it to legal height. A removable gooseneck load was going to cost me at least $5700 to get it back here to New York. It would have to be a good one to justify that. Can you post a picture and provide a little more detail? Thanks for the reply.

I'll try to get you a picture. It is a two axle truck. Very clean, no rot. Engine was just rebuilt. Turbo and Jake.

Yes it is a cummins. It is a 230 I believe. But, since it is turbo'd it is supposedly a 262.

I forgot to ask the number 1 question. Is it a cabover or a conventional? I'm only interested in a conventional. (sorry about that).

It is a conventional. There is one small dent in one front fender and one small dent in the radiator cowling. Besides that, there is no rot that I can find. Everything seems to work except one window does not roll up. It appears that everything inside the cab is original.
Something just occured to me as regards moving such a truck. I have seen one semi-truck tow another semi-truck piggy back. In other words the truck being towed had it's front bumper attached to the fifth wheel of the truck doing the towing. Wherever you do find a truck, I suspect it does not necessarily need to be trailored. This would help with the hight problem.
