Military would be a 173B 2 valve control 76E1-up serial # which was used on the D7E with a 77E1-up 7S blade, the cylinders should be in the blade parts book.

I don't have that book but all the civilian versions are based on the 4J6176 cylinder assemblies (4J6177 group) , just the drop valves change. I kind of doubt the military cylinder assy would be any different. The casting number would be expected to be a slightly less number (4J6168) depending on how many machining stages they went through.

The 77E blade equals a 59F1 to 637 blade also covered in the recommended parts manual.

I was wondering how the hydraulic system would behave without the quick drop valves.
The early versions with front mounted #46 s/n 48C-up had make up valves which could handle surges from the cylinders. Not sure the later fender tank controls would handle that without the quick drop valves on the cylinders. Odd thing is the early civilian systems had both make up valves and the quick drop valves.

Turns out I do have the military version file, on disc, that I had forgot about.
Check pages 452 to 458. Unfortunately it is not s/n specific so I would rely on the original parts book information.

The part numbers I listed are for the newer type seals that dont require shim packs, these are the updated seals from Cat.

That helps a lot. I will wait for the book to arrive. Unfortunately it's on a slow boat from China. eBay said that I will receive it on January 15. The paint color is definitely olive drab so that means military of some sort. Thanks guys!

Should have asked way back when... What's the s/n of the Hydraulic Control you have or intend to run this cylinder on? Do you have a D7E? or are you just looking to use the lift cylinders on something else?

Looks like this a complete hard nose added to a 3T, under second pic he lists it with a 7S blade. Must have the front mount 46 hyd. unit.
