Heh it does, just about as long as the once-per-three years show that I attend and then it's all forgotten again until the next time I get on a tractor : ) Your unit is looking really good Ray, I'm looking forward to seeing it at a local show before too long!
Cheers,
Neil

Neil,
I might be calling you to come help the first time I try to start the old girl. I will be planning a party and will invite all the smart folks I know who can help me when things don't go exactly as planned.
Stay well,
Ray

That'd be great Ray! I'd definitely look forward to that. I'm sure it'll run on the first pull ; )

Hey, Neil, no "pulling" here. Mine has electric start, and I converted my generator to 12 volts. Even so, I might give it a few hand cranks when I first try starting it. Ray

True, although I like to use the hand-crank as the litmus test that the engine is in good tune. I get the rope out on my 6v 5U pony occasionally just to "feel" what shape it's in. The beauty of that is that if it is in good shape, then it starts with a lazy almost-not pull on the rope, so it's really easy to tell if something's getting out of whack and it's no effort to start. My cousin's 22 back in the old country takes one slow pull-over with the choke on to prime, then choke off and pull to start. More often than not it's running on that second pull.
Cheers,
Neil
