Financial members should not see the pop up adverts if they are logged in, if you are seeing them when logged in we need to hear from you so that we can correct it.

When the new website was launched just over a year ago, the adverts which had been a feature of the previous website were not carried forward initially. Adverts did make a monetary contribution to the club so we have turned them on again. This time though they should only appear to non-financial members, so using the forum “advert free” is a benefit of membership.
I believe the system is working as it should, so if any financial member who is seeing adverts can please check that they are logged in and that their membership is current. If you are a financial member, are logged in and are still seeing adverts, drop an email to...

and we will investigate.

OK, not getting pop up adds when logged in. Seems I recall when you left the site you were automatically logged out. Doesn't do that now and I keep forgetting to log out. Is this an intended event?

I think you mean that you keep forgetting to log in (rather than log out). I think these “features” are probably default settings of the new “Kunena” forum software and so are intended. As Daryl says periodically you are required to log in again.

No, I'm saying I'm still logged in after leaving the site.
I have to physically log out.

Hello John
Do you have any control over the adds? Some of the adds I saw when logged out were inappropriate and one was clearly a scam.

Hello Phil, I don’t know if we have any control over the adverts, but I will ask the question.
All we did was to reinstate what we had before.
I am concerned with what you say.

Have not seen any inappropriate add's . I did see a local CAT dealer advertisement, always happy to see that.
In a way the add's option prevents also spam clicking.

These ads are particularly nasty and ugly. They are not "like before" or "just turned on again". They were not at all bothersome before, I used to click on them to help generate income.
They may well serve the purpose to drive freeloaders like me to pay up.
Yesterday I thought the site had been hacked.
