D4-7U interlock question

Working my way through the clutch assembly on my D4.  Everything was way out of adjustment or broken, and the interlock didn't really work very well. Somehow the clutch was still working though.

There is a rod which connects to the main clutch lever linkage and actuates the teeth on the interlock.  Mine is bent in several different spots.  I'm 95% sure this lever should be straight (it's straight in the parts manual, but that doesn't mean a whole lot).  Before I bend this thing back to being straight (or at least as straight as I can get it), does anyone know for a fact if it's supposed to be straight?  It is part number 3B1009.  The thing that is throwing me off is that it's bent in several areas, which is kind of odd.

Thanks, that would be really helpful! If you happen to have the steering clutch linkages put back together under the cover, a pic there might help too...I am really scratching my head over the booster spring linkages. It looks like they are just sitting loosely over a bolt that goes into the transmission case cover. Both my bolts are bent, and I don't see how they wouldn't be with such a stiff spring pulling on it.

Ok I guess it's normal, I won't worry about it and just fix it.  Noticed that the manual said it the springs were only on later tractors, so wondered if mine was a retrofit.
Mine has some problems...

I have very worn out clutch linkages on my D4 6u2432, it pops out and realises the clutch unless lever is held in position (all pins and clevis holes are now oval in shape), is it possible to remove the top half clutch cover with out removing the pony motor? would be it possible to remove only the pony crank shaft pulley to remove the cover over the main clutch? I believe the clutch plate has worn out past adjustment as well and it will not adjust up (feels like it has hit a stopper).

i have a 6u myself. and the pilot engine is separate to the trans so yes you can it may be fun to get it past the pilot's flywheel though and you most likely need to remove the dash you definitely need to remove the air cleaner. i believe the fenders have to come off too not sure so dont quote me. the parts book shows the trans casting with out them in place

depends on your serial number. there two piece transmission covers on the later D4 tractors. there was a practice of sawing rhe cover on the older tractors to accomplish the same thing. you should be able to see from the operator station if the cover is a two piece or not.
