Tech Library how to?

Hi Neil,
I am using a lap top, Windows 10, Firefox browser if that helps sort the issue that I have had from the Tech Section from day one--have asked before and given the same data as listed above and seems I am still doing something wrong.

I had another issue that Neil C. assisted with and that was I did not have the big black boxes at the top of the page that could be selected to go the the Forum, Members etc. seemed at 133% Zoom on the screen it did not load these--reduced to 120% Zoom and they appeared*^&##@%$
Could this be the issue here I wonder ?--I use the Zoom so I do not have to wear my specs. when using the lap top computer as the normal 100% page Zoom print size is harder to read.
Thanks and Cheers,
Eddie B.

Thanks for the kind words Neil, I just never went back to the scroll wheel even after I gained dexterity in my left hand, that's why the "Doh!".

Probably true Craig : )
Eddie, I'll try that combination out on one of my boxes later today and see what I get. It's true though, if you've zoomed, by definition some parts of the page will be off-screen. What I did was got an affordable but huge monitor : ) so that everything is big, but it all is still visible.
I do look at my 13" travel laptop but it's really hard on the eyeballs.

Cheers,
Neil

Hi Eddie,
I have a suimilar setup.
My laptop is a Dell inspiron running windows 10.
I normally use microsoft edge which comes with windows 10 but I do have firefox as well
I have no problem accessing the library with either.
I just tested Firefox at 133% magnification and that works OK as well, see screenshot below.
I know this doesn't solve your problem and must be frustrating for you, but that combination does work on my laptop.
I will send you a mail with another idea.

What we might do is set up a Teams or zoom call with you Eddie so we can see exactly what's going on. Sometime that suits you, maybe the weekend or during next week? I'm on Eastern time and John's on GMT so the usual time we organize is around 4pm my time so your morning. Send a range of days/times that work for you and we'll set something up

Cheers,
Neil

another point to remember is whether your machine has the latest version of the programs your using. sometimes when a website is written using the newest software the older programs cant decipher it properly and it causes issues.

for those visually impaired (half blind buggers) you can do what i did and get a flat screen tv for your monitor at the time it cheaper to buy 32inch tv than a large monitor and bonus since its a tv i can change between tv, computer or game console at the touch of a button. a lot of tv's have vga/dvi ports and besides most computers now use hdmi anyway.

Hi Team,
John sent an email just as he promised to which I have elaborated my fix for the missing black subject boxes ( Forum etc.) by down sizing the screen zoom to 90 % but later found they still appeared up to 120% but not the 133% I usually use--this is acceptable.

Other issue I had has seemingly been resolved, today when I logged on was that the page shows I am financial again--other issue was somehow I had two log ins or what ever they are called--one was my email address and the other was edb
.
I will need to check if the library works as a sane person would expect--as I discovered that the right clicked library article--ie. 2Ton Service Manual-- was actually right down the bottom of the page after the 900 or so loaded articles--usually one would expect the clicked on article to load in a separate overlaying window as usually happens in my experience.

With help from a Kiwi mate who was stuck in new Zealand for some 12 months until recently we have unscrambled my old long time used much larger laptop and regained my Cat and personal files--computer seems to be missing operating systems for DVD player etc.--we are again locked down due to CV-19 very virulent Indian version and so he cannot visit to continue as yet.
I have been building my Cat file from scratch on this new stop gap lap top and when I feel better after getting first CV-19 VAX shot last Friday I may be able to think clearer.
Soldiering on and persevering with stuff (computers) that I do not follow the logic of--certainly do not work on the same type of logic as things mechanical.
Time for lunch.
Cheers,
Eddie B.

normally the error is somewhere between keyboard mouse and the seat.
electronics are the same we rely on test equipment to tell us whats wrong.
the old full mechanical stuff is much easier to understand.
and ussually a repair can be made with a few spanners, a hammer, pliers and a piece of wood or long screwdriver for a stethascope

Years ago when I worked in IT support we used to call them EBKS errors (Errors Between Keyboard and Seat) :-))

Edb hope your feeling better soon. As well as getting the brain rapped around the way to move the mouse to get down the "rabbit whole" you where looking go down. I to find it tedious to have to scroll past the other topics to hopefully find information I was looking for. But rather than be unhappy to have to learn new things I will say a thank you to those that have added to information avalble here.

Train I would not go so far as to say I have a clue about the way electronics will respond. But I think I have enough brain left do what I found worked yesterday again today, to only find it doesn't here. But there could be many errors between mouse and seat.

I am still pondering how the oil pressure gauge on my hay baler got disconnected, and I have no memory of it. Well more than disconnected as it is plugged off. I believe because of another kind of mouse problem, that causes damage to plastic lines. But nobody else has used it so why no memories of the work.
