Jan,
I misplaced Paso Bob's tel no email address. I may have bought my dozer from him around
2005. Alan Raymidge took me out to a farm that had a dirt landing strip and a old piper sitting
in a shed. The previous owner took good care of it. It was taken to Alan's ranch and then up
Old Town road and in to my place on Tobacco Flats about a mile north of the Rocky Butte Lookout. I would like Ray's 54 contact info and also Sprocket 71's. Thanks for your help.

I knew Alan Ramage well. He passed away a few years ago, much too soon. He had his ways of fixing things. Sometimes all new parts, or some of them being what we may call a bit unorthodox. But maybe Alan did not ever work on it.

Ray,
When I first bought the dozer Alan went all over it and changed the fluids, filters and greased it up. We brought it up Chimney Rock Road to Old Town Truck trail up through to the Rocky Butte Truck TRail and down into tobacco flats. I bought a diesel storage tank from Alan and it is still on the property and was not damaged in the fire. Chad Hartman has been helping me
get it going again. He checked the control valve pistons and said they were free. Hoping to go in soon and change the oil and filters.
Thanks for communicating. I had a few meals with Alan and his wife and spent the night at their new mobile home. Sorry to hear of his passing.

We went in and drained the oil and filled it with 35 gals. The pressure came up around 500 to 600 dropped off a few time and went back to 550 or ao.
We were able to operate the left steering clutch but the right one is stuck. The next step I think is to jack up the fuel tank and remove the control; box with
the pressure relief valve and take it to a shop to be rebuilt. Hoping to find a good shop around Paso Robles. Looking for a seat and any suggestions will be greatly
appreciated. One of the neighbors put on the new hoses before I took back the dozer without my knowledge so the right steering clutch heated way up. He told me it was still burning two
weeks after the fire.

The old oil was drained and 35 gallons of oil poured in the transmission, around three in the clutch. When the oil was drained there was some
water in the left steering clutch. The pressure went up to around 600 and then dropped off to zero. It then went back up to around 550 lb.
The left steering clutch works but the right is frozen. On the next trip in to the dozer we will lift up the fuel tank and remove the steering control box
with the pressure relief valve. We will rebuild the steering control box with the new pressure relief valve. Any insight on this will be greatly apprecited.

The plan is to go in next weekend 15th and try and break the right clutch free, Lift the tank, remove the seat and pull the control box and rebuild it. Will give a heads up when completed this far..
