I decided on a Plan B when I remembered I'd bought a home made 3 point linkage hay roll carrier at a farm clearing sale years ago and never used it, I think it will be strong enough for my old girls.
Total cost was about $10 which included a couple of cutting discs and a hand full of welding rods, I know the Engineers amongst us won't be very impressed with my effort, but it's better than what I had before, and all from scraps I had laying around.

I like it ! That should do the job for you and make it safer moving small crawlers alone.

good job Mike, i like it too! it's great when you can make something that will do a job with stuff you already have on hand....
-and if you don't think it's pretty enough, i find a layer of Cat yellow Tremclad hides a multitude of sins..
