Well Berks18, i already know you’re handy with a computer and hand tools; folks, he said he couldn’t get it started with the pony, so within 24 hours he successfully placed a 24V electric starter in her to get her to working. That tractor got quite a workout as soon as she was on the pavement sort of speak!
Let’s see you with your new workhorse in action Chase. We all love photos and videos.
Just a reminder, I called dibs on the D6... so no side deals. 😝 JM.

JM. I will throw some photos up today of the starter (retro-fit) "my favorite word" lol
Soon as she got fired up, we took it out to an old ranch that needed some buildings ran demolished and had a play day!

I don't personally trust 60+ year old tin and would rather keep moisture out of the system because the "rain cap" is more like a snow cap. For $3.00 I'll take the added insurance.

Hi Chase,
Welcome to ACMOC, We are happy to have you. I'm a bit east of you in Moose Lake, MN. Chad Enyeart is a bit south in Laramie. Neither are to bad of a drive from Lead. SD has great speed limits on the freeways. We have a very active Chapter 3 in MN and have play days, work days,(still play) and events from time to time. Things are slow this year but hopefully will open up again after the election. Perhaps you will be able to break away for a weekend and join us sometime at a play day. Chad in Laramie is almost as big of hoarder as them left coast boys you are chatting with. He's a great guy to and in 2022 the National ACMOC show will be held in Laramie. Plan on that one. There was or probably still is a fellow near Sturgis that had/has a collection next to their old equipment show grounds that is or was a ACMOC member. I stopped and visited a few years back. Cant remember his name but like the rest of the Cat folks, a real nice fellow. You might drop Mary a email at the office when you get a chance and she can give you info on members in your area. Her info is on the website. She is pretty busy with helping roll out the new website and all so a email instead of a call helps her handle it all more timely.

Joe G , that canopy and sweeps are one of the main reasons I bought that D6 , I had been stalking that tractor for 5 years .i was original gonna restore it as a fire dozer. The guy that I bought it from ask how found out about this tractor , I told him when you run lowbeds you get to go places where no others get to. Other than the grousers being a little low the tractor is in very good shape and one of the easiest starting pony motors I have had .The only reason I sold it is a have to many projects .Glad it went to a good home .

D4e I operate for a living so I know a lot of low boy drivers, all good folks and as you mention they do get around, lol. I totally understand about the project list being too long. I have trouble with that myself.

I did a cutting edge upgrade on mine too, that made it a lot nicer to operate too. I have a bit more of my factory paint missing though.
