Hauled some scrap bins in for my welder friend today and saw a lot of cat equipment in various stages of conditions. The loader didn't look to bad and a friend told me the d8 came on a lowboy and unloaded under it's own power. The undercarriage on all the tracked machines was 75% or better by eye ball. Looked like maybe they were messing around with the d8 but it is a scrapyard

The D8 appears to me to be a 14A. I think you need one of those d2gary! If the undercarriage is what you think, that is half the battle! You could clean you driveway no matter how much snow fell overnight!

My friend that was there when it came said the same thing, its terribly hard to resist but so far I'm standing my ground. If I made 3 laps around my property with a d8 I wouldn't have any more work for it. Besides my wife is pretty understanding up to d4 size tractors and the 112 met some resistance but I'm pretty sure a d8 would not go over well.
So I'll tell you like I told my friend NO. And when you come back like he did with well it runs its complete and you could probably get it cheap, STILL NO.
My willpower is pretty low when it comes to Cats but fortunately my pocket book keeps me in check, sometimes.

I can rundown there and check into it if you're interested. The scrap yard is pretty close and scrap is down right now and I know they don't like the big stuff because its to much work to cut it up. I know for a fact that's why the d8 is still there unmolested because its to big to cut up.

I was thinking the same thing about those doors, wow those are in nice shape. Mine are much worse. I'd say save them if you can, if Oldbeek doesn't want them, I would make it worth your time for sure.

d2gary,
I think oldbeek needs the doors with good windows to keep the bees out of his cab. I recently met oldbeek and he told some really interesting stories about bees that I never heard before. I always thought a bee was a bee. Had no idea that is not correct.
That D8 would only need about 180sqft of space! You could just sit in the seat daydreaming about all the projects you could pretend you are building. Or for that matter, just crawl up into the seat and read a good book. It would not be like a Lazyboy but there are footrests!
