Another D2 followed me home

Found it on craigslist right after the ad came out . The guy's father passed some time ago and he was cleaning the property up for sale. Son is from Arizona and was real anxious to get everything done so he could go back home. The property was about an hour away in Montana and it was quite remote . He had a 580 case backhoe that we were able to pull the tractor out onto the road and then rigged up our blocks and cables to pull it on the trailer. Went pretty good and the tractor has some really good parts. Steering clutches and brakes worked but were a little stiff. Tracks are done and the main engine doesn't turn. Pony motor has about 1/4" end play but does roll over. The fellow said he thought it was a 1946, serial number is 36xxx.

So after we get loaded up the guy says hey I have 3 trailers if you haul them out you can have them. Well that was pretty easy decision, so we ran back dumped off the d2 and went back with 2 trucks and loaded 2 trailers on mine and one on Bryon.

Hi, d2gary.
Another D2 followed you home?????????

Could it be that you have a 'magnetic' personality?

And can you ever have enough D2s - or trailers?

LOL.

That is an unusual blade setup on that D2. Any d-tails?

Just my 0.02.

You have a wonderful day. Best wishes. Deas Plant.

It'll be 5J36xx Gary. I like how the Cat hydraulic pipes fit neatly under the pony tank and cowl. Looks like an almost-runner...

I have enough trailers but somebody else needs one. Hopefully I can sell my interest for enough to get my tractor for free.
No details on the blade, the fellow I got it from said he ran it when in his youth. Just watching the linkages when we lifted the blade it look like they functioned well. Nothing bound up and everything seems well done. It looks like the mold board started life as a cable blade

Yup I got a little carried away with the x
Number is 5j3612sp. Should be mid 1941. It has the big solid front idler verified by counting 31 link chain

Nice score! Sounds like you are accumulating quite the collection there! Interesting blade set up. And the trailers? As Rod Stewart says "some guys have all the luck!" 😁

Hi Gary, could you provide some close up shots of the 44 mounted on the front, and could you described the mountings please. On my 5U, there's the four bolts centered around the input shaft, and then there is a support bracket on each side, lower edge, of the tank to the radiator base. Is it the same on your 5J? Either way, I'm now in the market for a two-spool #44 for my 3J if anyone has one they want to let got

Cheers,

I tried to get some pictures but it's hard to get the camera in there and to focus. It does have the 4 bolts around the shaft and the side brackets for the pump guard to bolt to.
Serial number is 9w3831 and its 2 valve. Has cat levers and diverter blocks. I dont have any immediate use for it if you can use it.
