I’ve been away for a long while. But today I finally was able to bring home a 2f 3811 crawler. The wifey finally approves of old tractors cause the kids can play on it. Also it helps to have 5 acres now instead of the 1/4 acre in town that I had before. I hope this is the beginning of more to come. Shhhhhh, don’t tell the wifey. I think my two kids need one to play on each. Crud that excuse may only limit me to two crawlers. I’m not having more kids to get more tractors. I’ll figure out more excuses later. Maybe my brother’s kids need their own when they come over to play......hmmmmm.
Not sure where the tractor really came from but I got it from the local metal scraper. I’m still trying to figure out if the engine is stuck or not. The fan turns but I don’t think that will truly tell me if it’s stuck. I tried to turn the front electric motor but there are some different circumstances going on with this one. I guess I could put it in gear and drag it with the backhoe that’s currently at my house. The more I look into this tractor the more I see it has a lot of issues. But hey, the kids love playing on it.

I took the kids with me to get the 22 and saw some other cool tractors there. Surprisingly my son was more photogenic than my daughter today.

Looks good, well done, nice saving a old Cat from the scrappers, that looks like a RD6 in the second group of schnapps, someone was talking recently about a RD6 sitting at a scrapper they were trying to save, might have been TractorDon just up the road from "Prunetucky", can't be that many 3 cylinder Cats laying around scrap yards there, better grab her too before she disappears down Hwy 101.

Yes Mike, definitely TractorDon territory. Is Prunedale THAT bad??? Lol. Many arguments from ex wives of friends that would rather divorce than live near. Lol. Sorry, I’m not picking on anyone from there.
Glad another tractor was saved rather than scrapped.

Truly infected now with no hope of overcoming Cat fever. Even working on infecting the young.
Yes Mike was thinking the same about the Cat 3 cylinder.

Mike, it is the RD6 that TD posted about. I’m currently working on an idea to get her home as yard art at the front of my driveway. It looks really cool and not really dented or tore to heck. I don’t know anything about the diesels but I do like the look of a cool looking dozer. The serial number is 2H3262. I found Chris Co Machinery’s website where the serial numbers and dates are. They have listed the last RD6 is 2H3247. I’m curious the discrepancy. Doesn’t really matter cause it’s still an old unit, 1937. I should still be able to get it with my hooklift truck. Listed weight is 15k lbs and with the blade it’s probably 17k-18k lbs.

Grant, I’ll get some more pics of the electric start. My explications of it would consist of belts bolts and thingys. I really do think the hydraulic pump off the front. It is well made and a cool idea.

Juiceman, everyone calls it Prunetucky. I like it cause we have more people that don’t turn each other in for playing with the dirt or making improvements on their house. My parents and brother are on the west side of the freeway and that is true Prunetucky. I’m on the east side and we are Prunetuscany. Doesn’t matter what anyone calls it, the weather here is perfect. Rarely hot and never have to shovel snow.
