Hello all,
I hope that you are all well. I have a simple question, that may not be easily answered. Is there a CURRENT vender that sells the Cat Hi-Way Yellow? I have read quite a few past threads and it seemed like there were some old paint products that were in the past available. I am wondering if there are any available now without having a custom mix using the ACMOC store paint chip. I have a running D2 5j and want to clean her up a bit, but not trying to restore or enter into any judging show..

Thanks,

Paul

Not sure how well this matches the original but they do market it as such;

Hi, 85CW.
I don't know just how close it is to the original hi-way yellow but Rustoleum make a spray pack that they call 'Old Caterpillar Yellow - found in most hardware stores with a 1/2-way decent paints section. Or ask for it.

Just my 0.02.

You have a wonderful day. Best wishes. Deas Plant.

Deas,

Like 85, I have been looking for some regular enamel off the shelf. The Rustoleum "Old Cat Yellow" has been discontinued, at least in the US, without a replacement. I ordered a quart of the Ag Parts stuff mentioned above, just to see how close it is. Should be in next week. I'll try to post a picture once I try it out to see how far off it is.

This chart may or may not help.

I have spray cans of Rust-Oleum Old Cat yellow that I ordered online, maybe Amazon. The color is perfect. It did come from Canada. I had the number written down but can't find it right now.

The catalog number I found for Rustoleum Old Cat Yellow was 245500. I went online to Rustoleum, and they listed that as discontinued. So far, the only paint advertising itself as Old Cat Yellow has been the Ag State one. Valspar might have some as well, as mentioned above, but with TSC not carrying that line, I haven't been able to find any at a retail store, in the US at least. Whenever I see a yellow in a machine enamel I buy a small can of it to try. Yellow must be a hard color to match, because all the various Rustoleum yellows look pretty weird when comparing a painted part to the real Cat color.
