I remember an ole timer once said "A man that looks back at the furrow aint fit for the plow"
He was saying if you keep looking back your always going off course and have to keep correcting all the time to plow straight.

Hi Niels, great to see your ploughs being used and making a good job. I’m pleased that you are able to get outside and enjoy yourself in these difficult times.

Nielske thanks for sharing the fun. Good to see the old Cats getting the job done.

I cannot say about a plow as all my years farming in rocks on sidehills never been around a plow. But disc, chisel plow, field cultivator,or planting you better know what is going on behind you. I have had to fix many screw ups that did not have to be IF THE OPERATOR WAS WATCHING BEHIND where the work was being done. Partly do to the very very sticky type of soil I have farmed, along with the rocks. YOU NEED TO LOOK BOTH WAYS. Good peripheral vision really helps as well as knowing what your engine sounds like. When the sound changes and your not going up or down  wake up and look back.

Great video, thanks for sharing, looked like nice long straight rows to me, that takes skill, anyone can run a bare tractor straight for 20 yards on flat ground, but running a plow straight for 400 or 500 yards takes real talent, particularly with a small tractor.

I'm with the other guys, I like to look back too, make sure I haven't dropped something, and check the plow is working well.
Keep up the good work
Mike

hey Mike, that reminds me of another story...like when you loan out a car trailer to a buddy etc....i'm pretty sure those guys can go a thousand miles and never look back once...:drum:

My D2 5U getting a recent flogging, I need to keep looking back in case I lose a gang off the old disc plough, if I could find another set to add to the train I reckon that D2 would pull it easy!
