Thanks for posting Rome/kg. I was going to post on March 25. We lost a great friend on March 25 2018. Glenn and I talked would talk several times a week sometimes 2-3 in the morning I would be moving and he would be bidding jobs or just doing paperwork. We would often talk about spec’ing equipment or the upcoming shows or just old iron.Glenn was very generous more than a lot of knew.I remember a few years ago I took a new Cat 390 excavator up to the Cat dealer from Long Beach to Pleasant Grove he said call me we will go lunch . I thought right . I think it was a hour and a half one way drive for Glenn . Sure enough when I got there Glenn was there and took me to lunch. Not hardly a day goes by I don’t think about. I have a picture of him and Mary Ann in my office. RIP Glenn.

Hi, Rome K/G.
Thanks for posting that link. I have just been there and posted a message.

Seldom a week goes by when I don't think of Glen. Santa Margarita Ranch bought his Cat 660 scraper and 773 dump truck right before the show last year and the 660 has moved a fair bit of material since then, working on excavating 4 reservoirs for irrigation water.

I first met Glen at the Best Show On Tracks at Woodland in June, 2008, not long after he had bought the 660. He brought it to that show and it worked flawlessly through the whole show. As we were shutting down the earth moving display on the Sunday afternoon, Glen said to me, "I bought that scraper for yard art. It's too good for yard art. I've got to find a job for it."

He never did find a job for it. I think he would be happy that it has been moving dirt again. I think he would have been even happier if he could have been operating it or push-loading it.

R.I.P., Glen

Just my 0.02.

You have a wonderful day. Best wishes. Deas Plant.

Yup, many of us miss the big galoot. Pushing each other’s buttons was a favorite pastime for us, 24/7. I always wondered if he got any rest when alive. Maybe he lived like some cowpokes. They say they get plenty of rest when 6 under...

Hi, Juiceman.
Do you remember how Glen always liked to get the check whenever he was out with a bunch of guys for a meal? I 'ackshully' managed to beat him to it - - - - - a WHOLE ONE TIME. I remember he looked at me a bit sideways for a couple of moments. But he didn't say anything.

Just my 0.02.

You have a wonderful day. Best wishes. Deas Plant.

Juiceman and I were just remembering Glen the other day while chatting. I really miss my chats with Glen. Usually they would start out with a text at three in the morning expecting a answer in the morning and a minute later the receiver of the text would call. I would ask, What are you doing up? He standard answer was, "Its only one in the morning here, I'm still working, why are you up?" It does not seen like 2 years. Life goes fast! Enjoy every day.

Thanks for posting RomeK/G,

I too greatly miss our friend with the big heart! He was one of a kind. Nothing seemed to be "too hard" for him to do or organize. I am never around my 14A D8, when I don't think of Glen and Chum Duffy for their contribution of my adding it to my collection!

I also once was able to grab the check for the entire crew before Glen did. Then there was the time he handed me $200 over breakfast for coming the farthest to one of his playdays just to spite "Oilslick" who was arguing that he had come the farthest! The smile on Glen's face is something I will never forget.

RIP Glen my friend,

JanM

Hardly a day goes by whenever i pull up to the keyboard that I don't think of "Glenn". That and the fact we frequented the same territory of Marin and Sonoma Counties in our youths although about a couple of decades apart. Where he rests now is in my old neighborhood. Looking back there are few individuals that I knew that had the influence that Glenn did, always enjoyed his company.

I remember when he was going to pick up a train for the kids to ride on, that really showed such heartfelt gratitude he had for young ones. Heck of a guy!
