No discussion of land clearing would be complete without including the Rome Plows used for land clearing in Vietnam.

Hi Rome K/G-why is log splitting “private”? Cool videos-what’s on your blade in the first one where you shove over that huge tree?

No I just wondered if you ran a Rome plow over there, just also was wondering if there any of those guys on the site or nearby. On the blade? That is a Rome K/G blade on the tractor.

Hi Rome K7G,

the form of a stinger on a K/G blade also looks similar to the head of a manual splitting hammer. Here is a nice, factory fresh D9D with a cable K/G blade, it's push arms look non-Caterpillar:

Correct, those are Rome push braces, that is also an early style blade, you could get or use either the Cat "C" frame or Rome "C" frame set up or the straight push brace type.
The Cat "C" frame of coarse has the six trunnions where the Rome has just two for the K/G blade.

My friend's 1954 D6 8U with a Fleco root rake that came off a 950 loader and fabbed to fit. Been working for 30 years like this.

Yup, I was in the 1st CAV Div, 70-71. I commanded a forward support company, supporting the 3d Bde of the CAV on Firebase Mace.
