Hi Guys been a little crazy in this world you know..... I have been busy doing family stuff and yanked all the ripper actuators out and got the parts from Cat for the kits....
Got the nuts to be replaced as well and I have got a question for Old Magnet or anyone else...
So I have the lift cylinders installed with new seals/nuts and even put wiper seals in with bearing mount adhesive..
I noticed when taking apart the cylinders that some have washers and some don't... The lift cylinder has them but the tilt cylinders do not have any washers that buffer the nut and then behind the first segment of the rod... The rod takes a 4 " nut part #46j888...
The part number for the seal kit for the tilt cylinders are Cat part #245-6827
I need to install the washers as my OCD does not allow to skip it and put it back without them.... If someone could please give me the part #for the lift cylinder washers I would be appreciative... Old Magnet???

Seems as it should be:
Tilt cylinders do not have washers under the nut, just a 4J6898 washer on rod side of piston.
Lift cylinders have 7J2094 washers on both sides of the piston

Hey Rome!!! I have been a little busy and did not really do much with the D9 as she has sat waiting on some parts for the ripper and the rocker box gaskets ect....
I think everyone would be proud.... I walked away from a D8K that was needing a ton of work and I didn't bite.... Valve covers was rusted through on 123 piston and was very corrosive... Needs all new undercarriage.... Guy was asking 3k. but it would be a ton to bring her back to life.... Different setup with the Ip and all... Pretty small next to my 9... My next step after I get all the ripper cylinders back and repacked and do the rocker box gaskets and all is to give her a paint job..... After seeing the 8 in such bad shape I dont want my 9 getting roughed up in the Hawaii sun now that it is out of the Jungle... Hope everyone is well.....

Hey! glad things are going good. Sounds like a good choice on the 8. The cylinders can be allot of work!

Okay, today I am taking off the rocker boxes to replace the gaskets underneath.... When looking at it it appears I am going to have to re-adjust all the valves. So am I correct in the fact that the valves will need to be re-adjusted... That really stinks because I will more then likely I have to take the starter out again and put my engine tool to spin the flywheel correctly.... It is a PIA>>>>>. To say the least.... I have the manual and will look in there but want someone who has done this before... Let me know and thanks as always.... I will tell you what I find with the existing gasket if any at all from the looks of it I don't see it.... In addition I cleaned the engine before disassembly....
