Some guy has Chum's 14A on another operation somewhere although he left the blade behind : ) There were so many tractors there could have been a 14A in there and I just didn't notice (you know my eyes only see 36As Jan ... : )
That kid was doing a great job on the 19A - I got on it and messed up his fine grading job with a whole bunch of divots!

Cheers,
Neil

Well, I think I’m addicted to these play dates/shows now! This one was a ton of fun, and the first one I’ve ever been to. My little boy and I loved it! When is the next one???!!!

Come down Saturday as well next year Joel. What did you run?
There's also Attica in September and Canandaigua in August so keep those in your calendar too, but Chum's is the biggest/best around these parts, with the widest range of equipment and the nicest people!

Sounds great, Neil. Thanks for the "heads up" on the other shows. I'll definitely try to catch those. I was brand new to the scene and really didn't know anyone or how things worked, so I didn't run any machines. That would have been even better- next time though. We still had a blast.

Thanks Chum!

Either way, (weather wise) We are going to stop over even if it is just to visit as we juggled schedules to get the RIGHT weekend off to come out. I told the wife this is on my Bucket List which is growing longer every year due to missed dates for Events.

Jeff

Jeff,

Glad you got over to the playday. The word I got was you and Neil were running side by side but never had a chance to meet up. Goes to show how exciting running a Caterpillar can be that you get fairly self-absorbed with what you are doing. Half the fun for me is to see old friends and meet new ones besides running the machines! Oh well, maybe next year!

Hi, Folks.
Woulda liked to be there but your immigration dept seems a little touchy on people over-staying their visas. Chum and his 'entourage' fitted in VERY nicely at Santa Margarita - even unto being welcome back next year.

Jan M., I have had the pleasure several times of being an Australian on American soil introducing Americans to Americans. Gives me a chuckle every time.

Just my 0.02.

You have a wonderful day. Best wishes. Deas Plant.

Deas, just fly into Mexico and sneak over the border. No one in CA would even care now that we are a sanctuary state!

I would not be surprised to find that fact out!
My wife kept asking me where the guy was that invited me. I told her I haven't seen Neil in probably 10 years and will have a hard time recognizing him! I know Neil is somewhat younger than me but the fellow beside me on my left side looked too young (I guess I am old?). I downloaded the pictures off from my wife's phone last night and will probably post tonight as it is RAINING HERE AGAIN!
Did Neil mention that I was doing good, then got a little tilted, by the time I gave up I had a BIG MESS made! My wife was sitting patiently watching/waiting so I didn't stay to fix it as I figured on Sunday someone would come along to fix it!

Well, I'm young but not that young. There was a boy, maybe 12 years old, running one of Chum's D9Gs - I definitely do not look that young! I was on the grader at the beginning, then got on the 36A to push a scraper out from being stalled, and promptly stalled myself, so someone came over on another D8 to tow-start me backwards. So if you noticed all of those shenanigans, that was me. D8Pete went round later with the grader to hide all the evidence! : )

Cheers,
Neil

Replied by drujinin on topic Well?
I watched the boy for quite awhile, then did see the scraper get pushed but may have been talking to the fellow recording the boy or talking to his Grandfather and not notice the tow start?

Jim told me that he was pushing in some Oil Well locations over on the 4 Mile in Allegany. We stopped over there to talk to the Farmer who has given him access to the locations. He spoke highly as to the quality and skill of Jim's work. He said when it comes time to push in his locations that he wants Jim to do it because he doesn't just follow the flag markers. He is REAL GOOD at what he does!
BTW
We drove across the new bridge that your Company put in! Lord knows how many times I've gone across the old one and this one is a Treat!
