Thanks for scan Eddie, interesting info there, good to know that after all these years the dumpster diving you did at the Dealer 40 years ago was not in vain!!:lol:

It would be a brave person who re used pistons with hairline cracks expecting them to see another 10,000 hours till the next major overhaul, I'm not very bright as you know so I'd definitely be looking for better pistons, but Cat Engineers knew what they were doing obviously.

G'day Roostercruising. Wondering whether the new manifold is genuine or aftermarket as I have slightly later serial number 17A with a severely cracked manifold.
