Even Bulk mail and standard shows 2-9 days delivery on the USPS web site and I do not think I have ever recevied the ACMOC Mag within 9 business days. So counting today it has been 11 days. Living only a couple states away from the mailing I would expect it to be faster. I don't understand why all the other mags I receive do not require first class postage for timely delivery.

Why don't I have the same problem with all the other mags I get? I receive about 15 per month and for example my model RR mags all arrive within 4 or 5 days after they are mailed. This is verified by online forum comments just like on this board.

I still think there is a problem in a mail distrtibution center close to the mailing area that is screwing up the delivery or the publisher is not being completely honest about what is mailed and when.

No Mag today either. My address has not changed in 7 years. My local mail carrier said that if it makes it to our post office, it goes right out and is never held.

Looks like we ae being held hostage to cough up an extra $6 to get our magazine. :(

From having previously lived in Illinois, between Wilmington and Kankakee on the river, I found that the mail delivery problem was located in the bulk mail center in Shorewood, Ill. I ended up canceling most subscriptions due to non delivery and/or mailing damage. This was a very common complaint after that center opened back in the 1980s. I have purged the actual date from my memory. Any item that has to go through that facility is in jeopardy.

You might be able to find someone at your local post office that can tell you the actual routing of the magazine.

I live 10 miles west of Shorewood, Il. and as far as I know there is no Bulk Center there. This area is handled by South Suburban in (I think) Oak Lawn or a town close to Oak Lawn and the other bulk center is Fox Valley which is in Aurora, Il. Of the two Fox Valley is better.

I still have not gotten my magazine:mad:

Maybe on Monday we who have not gotten our magazine should call the Post Office and complain. Just maybe our numbers might get their attention.

It was referred to as the Shorewood Facility when it went in service. I forget exactly where it is but I have seen it. Mail trucks loading and unloading etc. It is a 4 story building. In the late 90s I spent a couple of years in Clinton. Ill and experienced the same thing with bulk mail.... late and mangled.

What do you think the chances of someone who understands english and gives a *hit answering that phone. Not Likley.
Unfortinley most of them started out as good people until they got burnt out with postal politics and wasting there time delivering all the bulk rate crap such as credit card applications. Junk mail is one of my Big pet peeves, What a huge waste of trees, and cost to handle it and dispose of it.

Sorry to rant, just a sore spot for me.

If your mail is handled out of the Oak Lawn center, then that is one hell of a distance. OL is just a few miles west of me. It does sound right tho if you and I are some of the last ACMOC members to receive (or not) our mags, then part of the problem might be the OL sorting center. I also agree that something needs to be addressed (no pun intended) to assure we all get our mags in a timely manner, first class or not.

By the way, still no mag 3 miles east of Oak Lawn.
