Has ACMOC ever looked into producing and selling authentic umbrellas for these old machines? I would love to put one on my TEN. I really like the wavy CATERPILLAR logo on the originals.

I suppose the demand would have to be there to make it worth while.

I don,t think it would be a big deal to produce some of these umbrellas as they could find a Co. who has the blank ones to sell & then they could have a shop that makes up logos & have them install them on the material. My son used to have a shop that he made up all kinds of banners etc. & put it on whatever you wanted it on. They could make up a few & see how they go over & then maybe go by an order basis but you might have to wait for a short time to get it made up then.They should be priced at a reasonable rate as I think most the Cat merchandise is way over priced in their magazine.

I looked into it at one place down here. They never silk screened an umbrella but said they could certainly look into it. BUT, I needed permission from Caterpillar to use the logo. Which I knew...but wanted to see if they would try one for me.
I believe ACMOC is the only one authorized to use the logo(s).

I've seen blank 54", square umbrellas sell between $85 and $150. I would be willing to pay a fair price for a quality umbrella, as I would only want the same quality as the tractor itself! Most of the generic yellow umbrellas are closer to John Deere yellow than Highway or Safety yellow.

I agree with you both, this would be a good idea for the Club to look into the feasibility of supplying reproduction umbrella's.

1876649 is the part no of a genuine old style umbrella through your Cat dealer, unfortunately the lettering is not in the old wavy style but it is as good as you will get.

I checked with the local Cat dealer some time ago. They showed me a picture of the one that is available. (CAT POWER) I know it is an option even if it has to come out of Brazil, but I was really hoping that ACMOC might look into producing a replica of the originals. I think there would be enough interest in them.
