I am looking at possibly buying a small cat grader and don't know alot about it. The serial number is 9T 4132 it has a 4 cyl diesel with matching numbers and pony is there but does not run... metal flakes in the oil of the pony. Are the ponys on this grader and a d4-7u dozer the same? Model and or year information would but helpful. Thanks, Joe

That would be a model #212 with D315 engine and my info shows 1954 as production year for that serial number.
The basic pony engine is the same as the 7U model D4, plus the D2's and the earlier D4's.
