got my magneto apart to clean and check inside but now i want to put it all togetter i have a problem with the timing of the gear inside , there are 2 timing marks on the big gear, :aclw and clw , also on the little gear there is a stripe and, also on the "frame" there are the 2 brass skrews wich i put on the stripe of the gear now hoping its right.

so whats aclw and clw??
begin opening points and closing points ??

ferther the mag was in neat condition, but what was the colour of the magnet original??
im thinkin of painting it black , looks good at a "silver" coloured magneto.

aclw....is anticlockwise rotation (counterclockwise)
clw....is clockwise rotation

Depends on your application as to what direction of rotation is required.
You don't say what tractor you are working on.
If it is for pony motor, see attached instructions.
Not sure about color, could be plain aluminum or oversprayed with Cat yellow:confused:

its a gv4 for a 15
a so the mag could run 2 directions for other brand engines,
the magnet is a bit rusty so i think i only paint that black.

Old Magnet is right on, but keep in mind that magneto rotation is indicated when you are looking at the drive end. Line up the mark on the pinion with the apropriate mark on the distributor gear and you sould be alright.
