Many online forums have abandoned the “bump the old thread to the top” mechanism for the express purpose of keeping someone from resurrecting an old thread. Old threads stay buried in (chronological) order that they were originally started in

The difficulty in posting on an old thread is following through from the beginning, catching the changes in machines and owners in order to give good advice that’s pertinent to the most recent post.

Also more importantly, starting a thread about something and ALSO resurrecting an old thread to compete with the new one you just started, doubles the workload for anyone posting a reply to answer the same question twice.

Much better to EITHER resurrect an old but appropriate thread dealing with the same problem
OR start a new thread and provide the necessary information for someone to reply appropriately.
BUT NOT BOTH.

D2-5J's, D6-9U's, D318 and D333 power units, 12E-99E grader, 922B & 944A wheel loaders, D330C generator set, DW20 water tanker and a bunch of Jersey cows to take care of in my spare time:D
