I once saw a bill from the bulk fuel supplier end up in a fuel tank. The bulk driver had rolled the bill up an stuffed it in the end of the fuel nozzle. Unfortunately the first person to fill a tractor didn't notice that there was "mail".

OK. I must admit. I confess. I have done it.
Whilst restoring my B61 Mack, I could not work out why it would not run smoothly and why it blew a lot of smoke.
After about 6 months of compression tests, injector cleaning and servicing and running for long periods to let it all heat up and hopefully clear, which it did not.
All involved decided that the only course of action was to take the heads off.
After taking exhaust manifold off and then the intake manifold off, what did I find.
My old blue t-shirt (which I had obviously placed over the external air intake many months before).
I was so embarrased, but also relieved, that I took the manifold to show my friends my mistake. I never mind admitting my mistakes. Maybe someone will learn from them. I certainly learnt that my so-called mates had a good laugh at my expense.
The t-shirt was so firmly wedged in the manifold, it took me about half an hour to lever it out with a screwdriver.

$450 for paint!!

Gee Don that is more than we pay for whole tractors...

I tell you guys that you can get it at Home Depot for about $25 a gallon...It is rustoleum...

If I knew they were that much cheaper out there, I'd have contracted you to procure one and then ship it home.

How's this one, a modern 'electronic' marine engine had the computer re-programmed, it then wouldn't start, after much head scratching and tapping of keyboaord, a new ECU was fitted--no change, just a little bit of white smoke from the exhaust.
4th engineer on the job 'phoned his mate, 'take the air cleaner out', he says.
The engine roared into life!!!

Here is some info.

You can get it from Home Depot. It is Rustoleum Farm & Equipment series. #7449 is the color. It is available in quarts, gallons, and spray cans. Spray cans are under $3.

NAPA has the old highway yellow for about $5 a spray can.

I wanted something that I could use a gallon can and then touch up with the spray can.

If you need the Home Depot SKU#, I can get it I have to go through some paper work here at home to find it. You might be lucky to find it in the store. If not, you wcan get the "special services" desk to order it.

The problem with a computerized inventory is if they haven't sold it in the last X months, they think they don't need it. The problem is that the computer can't track the lost sales when I go in and they no longer carry it.... So, I have to walk down the street to the competitor....
