Have a late 7u d4to get access to the clutch ,should the. Plate below the batteries be removed to pull the clutch? It has a bad through out bearing.40254 serial # electric direct start?

Have to unbolt the fenders, remove covers below the brake pedals and remove the front half of top cover to access the clutch.

Hi, MikeHanson.
With that serial #, you should have a two-piece transmission/clutch cover. Getting into the front section of that cover will give you access to the clutch.
