it would be fun to get him out. plenty of duct tape and a dark rag to keep him calm. gators like crocs have very strong bite force but rather weak opening force. hence why they all use tape to keep thier jaws shut. and its quick to release too just 2 quick nicks with a sharp knife and get out the way!
