D2 Oil type question

More

Hello all -
I'm guessing all the information i need is in the service manual, which is the only manual i don't have.....

What oil (viscosity) is recommended for the starter pinon and fuel injection pump? I'm guessing 10-30 depending on temp, and probably not synthetic?
Any other sub-systems that require lubrication separate from main diesel, starting engine, trans and final drive?

thank you in advance!!

of course after searching 'nearly' everywhere and posting the question here, i find the answer in the operators manual. Type CO or superior oil 30 wt should do the job for all of the above.

If anyone has anything to add, please let me know.

regards,
TS

i use delo gold 15w40 in my d4 engine, pilot engine. textranstdh in the hydrualics and trans. torquefluid 454 in the final drives all these oils meet cat specs for lubricating oils.
in my climate with a average summer temp of 38 degrees celcius the lowest we get in winter is around 12 degrees over night.

multigrade is supperior than mono grade in almost all applications. synthetics and semi syn are a waste of money in these old things. a quality mineral oil is all you need.
