3T D7 fuel transfer pump alignment

Hello all.  Attempting to reinstall fuel transfer pump after installing o rings and retainer seal. Not sure correct name but ‘tang’ wise the alignment with accessory shaft was off. (Almost 1/4” gap was present attempting to tighten pump housing to fuel tower). I thought the end cap (pic) was access to adjust to synchronize. I moved from the camshaft very slightly. The pump tower 1/4” gap closed and I tightened. But as pic shows the bearing end is now protruding not allowing cover to mesh..  any advice appreciated..

You've got a problem there. Something isn't aligned properly and thats whats pushed everything out the backend. Hopefully nothing is hurt but I wouldn't count on it. You'll need to remove and find what caused the problem. Not familiar with your tractor but have had similar thing happen with similar parts on other tractors

Appreciate the reply d2gary .. I was very surprised to discover the bearing pushed to where it did. The pump transfer housing went easily by hand into the gasket on fuel tower whereas before it had a 3/16 gap. The camshaft obviously is held entirely in place by the end cover. I’ll take the pump back off hoping the camshaft return in place as easily as it eeked out. Thanks again for reply..
