I have had seats re covered. They never use the springs, just fill with blocks of foam. Good or bad?

well foam wont rust and the dig in your arse giving you arse nick poisnin and tetanus. but unless the correct type of foam is used they dont last as long as a proper spring containing seat not a big issue with antique machines as they are in retirement and dont get used all the time. having a spring type seat made would cost more probably.
