for most of the older part no if no number infront of the letter add a zero and if not 6 characters add a zero after the letter to make it six characters. i havent had a problem finding parts with the dealer. alltough they have told me a couple of the parts i have asked for are no longer available or have been superseded and have given the newer pn.

google is your friend when it come to finding parts. many parts are still used on other models so a google search can sometimes find them.if you can find the national stock numbers when it comes to bearing and seals you can find the parts too as cat didnt make thier own bearings or oil seals they bought standard items.
