Hi, Rome K/G.
Going by the background, trees, sheds, etc., I would guess that it is in Australia, which likely means that the tractor was used for chaining in its heyday. Canopies with that level of protection and more were common in that line of work. Hence the term, 'canary cage'.

Those tractors were all part of an auction on a property in North Qld, there were 5 x D8H, 1 x D9E, 1 x 660, 2 x 621, 1 x 824, 1 x D5, 1 x D6R, plus much more including Bob Hope's Lincoln car. The boys who owned the property decided to sell off a bit of the surplus they no longer had any use for.
