Reply: Will a scarifier unit off a 12 fit perfect on a 112?
josh post=205338 Short answer, yes.
Scarifier groups such as, 8B410 and 5B8312 were used on both the 12 and 112, such as the 9K, 8T, 7T, 3U, 80C, 81C, etc.

Thanks....  I have an 8T with the drivelines but without the scarifier and the Bullgear and a 9K with a scarifier complete. The linkage is all there on the 9K and the chassis on the 8T has all the same mounting holes on both sides allowing the Bullgear to be operated from either side of the chassis. BIG smile on my face

Hi, Fat Dan.
Yes, Dan, I believe those scarifiers were interchangeable pretty muchright up to the end of the line of the gear-controlled graders,

BUTTTT,

er, Dan, I don't wanna rain on your parade but you might have to do a 'little re-engineering' to get it to work on the right side of the frame - including getting a drive to it. The way it is right now is designed only for the way it is now. Not saying that it CAN'T be done, just that it might require a 'little work'.

Just my 0.02.

You have a wonderful day. Best wishes. Deas Plant.

Thanks Deas Plant. ... I knew from the beginning there was going to be some backyard engineering involved. I do have all the controls and linkages for the 9K and 8T. Took a hard look at them and I will need to use the 9K scarifier's driveline setup. All the mounting holes line up on the 8T chassis, though I may need to do some thread chasing and welding a bracket er two. U-joints Shoot forgot to look at the U-joints compatibility at the control yoke.

Hi, Fat Dan.
To the best of my knowledge, very little changed on the actual frames of the various grader models from the early '40s to the early '70s. A little beefing up here and there on the frame and some bearings and drive lines, the addition of external brakes on the blade lift controls, going from 2-wheel brakes on the rear to 4-wheel brakes, some changes to the control layout - handbrake, throttle, gear levers, etc. - power steering, hydraulic side shift on the blade, more horsepower, changes to the transmission, etc., but not much change to the main frame.

I even suspect that your 9K scarifier would fit pretty much straight on to a 70-71D or a 99E or you could sell it to an Australian and it would fit straight on the Australian-built 21Fs and 17Ks.

Now you watch Old Magnet or edb come along and shoot me down like a duck in flight. LOL.
