This is my Dad's original Cat that he cleared timber and built terraces and two ponds with. My job growing up was to keep the blade greased so it wouldn't rust..... to this day I LOVE the smell of turned soil and can still hear my Dad running the dozer in the distance in my mind. This Cat has a serial number of 9G5370W. What I have read and I hope someone can verify it as correct is that I need to add a 0 to the front for the 8 digits they use now. I found a website that stated the 9G was a code for the model which was an ED7 which became the D7 at SN 9G2500. I think the website was tractors.fandom.com

Maybe if I win the lottery someday---but gotta play first! LOL My friend who has the brain tumor was a Caterpillar mechanic in Topeka, KS and he was going to restore it. He would do complete car restorations on what looked like a rotisserie where the vehicle is stripped completely to bare metal and he can turn it on the rotisserie thing. Sorry---I don't know the correct terms or names. I just know what I saw at his shop. He wanted to restore this dozer and "show" it.... ???? he did that with the cars he restored.

that is an RD7 i think the first year for the RD7 was 1935 but i may be wrong on that. also i think that is a laplante choate pioneer blade???

I am not sure when or where my Dad purchased either dozer.  I do know the original one he had he built one pond in the late 50s and the second pond around 1960 or so.  If I can find it---I think my Mom had a picture of the second pond with me as a 5 or 6 yr old playing on the dam as my Dad worked.
