During the winter solstices we get 5 hours and 18 minutes of dusk in our area farther north they get less. The Arctic Circle is the line where they get no light on winter solstices and the farther north you go the longer it takes for the light to come back ... up to three months of darkness. The summer solstices is the other end of the spectrum it takes three months for the sun to go down. So the amount of light changes from day to day; on days close the a solstices we only get three or four seconds added or subtracted each day. Although, on days close to the equinox the length of a day will change by 15 minutes.
