New member here.

I'm looking to possibly buy a grader with s/n 9K9063 and labeled 12E. I understand that the 9K series was built from 1938 to 1945, but the 12E dates from 1959 to 1965. Anyone know how to explain the discrepancy? It has an inline 6 with pony motor. 

How hard is it to overhaul the foundation brakes?

The tires are dry rotted pretty bad but hold air. Would tire chains keep them from falling apart?

it isn't a 12E someone just put the wrong decal on it sometime ago when it was painted. the brakes aren't difficult to work on but getting the wheel center off can be a chore.

Tire chains will only exacerbate the dry rot problem. Looks like the rear tandem tire is a severe misfit or the photo is distorted. Se# is 1945 and probably has the D4600 engine.

Here's a closer photo of the LR tires. I think they're the regular size, 13.00-24. Also a shot of the RR, quite rotted.

A 9K Service Manual and a 9K parts manual are available in the technical section. Didn't see an operators manual.
