i was looking through the Library section of the site and found the literature on the 4S blade.  my bushings in the triangular part that attaches to the hydraulic cylinders and lifts the blade are needing replacement.  from the book it appears there is a cover on the inner end of this assembly that if removed exposes a retainer that holds the pivot shaft in place.  is this correct???  i was under the assumption that the whole thing had to be removed from the track frame in order to replace the bushings?  has anyone done this job? can give advice? Thanks

It is allot easier to remove the the lift frame to replace the bushings. The shaft may also be worn, I had to place those before too, use a good hardened steel though or they will wear fast. Yes the inner plate can be removed to remove the two bolts and washer on the shaft.

thank you Rome. why is it easier to remove the frame? looks pretty straight forward to pull the pivot shaft now. or does pulling the lift frame make getting the bushings out and back in an easier operation?

Pulling the frame does make removing and installing the bushings easier.

i found my rear bushings hardly worn at all bur the outer bushing were very worn or non existent---outer part of shaft was worn also--used steel fiber epoxy to build up the shafts

has the epoxy held up? would welding up and turning down be acceptable?

You may be getting some wrong information from the librarians.
You cannot access the bolts and retainer without removing either the inner or outer support assemblies (trunnion and plate assemblies) . Most of the ones that I have seen the inner plate is cut with a torch and welded back after the bushing/ shafts are replaced.
If you are removing the outer trunnions, the C frame and cylinders have to come off first, on a 5 roller frame tractor there are 8 of the 3F6697 bolts. The inner plates only have 3 bolts, but access is miserable. Probably don't have room for a torque multiplier on one of the inner one - equalizer spring is in the way. 

if your talking about the main pivot for the lift quadrangle our was cut out with the gas axe and after rebuilding was welded back in place.
