Does this blade and ripper(?) look genuine cat?

Neat find. Yep, as Rome K/G said, the blade, including the hydraulics are Cat. Cat never made a ripper for that model of D4 as they were basically designed as an agricultural tractor - although pretty much everybody who ever had one wanted it to do a D9's job - some testament to their design that so many of them survived.

Now that canopy - that's a WHOLE nuther story. I guess it didn't hurt the traction much but it wouldn't have done much for the sideways stability of the tractor.

I've got the same angle blade and it is good news and bad news. Handy at times blading snow but a PITA for general dozing because the blade is so far in front of the tractor. Threatened to cut it off numerous times to get the blade closer to the tractor. That canopy is something else. At first glance I thought it was made out of lumber.

our machine has virtually the same blade just doesnt hang as far forward anyone know what model blade it is. ours was converted by a previous owner and it was originally a farm crawler

The reason Relic's blade looks so far forward is his machine has the 4 roller frames, could yours be the same way D4Jim?

Yep OG.  Mine is a 4 roller Ag tractor. When I bought it 25+ years ago I was looking for a 5 roller but couldn't find one.   Of course with the 4 roller frame and the setup with the dozer so far ahead of the tractor it has made me extremely proficient in reaction times.
