Serial number lookup was created by Remuda
I found a few pieces of antique cat machinery when I looked at a cat 12 parts grader. I put the numbers in the caterpillar website for parts they didn't work. I have D 8 pony motor start dozer 5B6637 was on the block? I'm also trying to see if the parts grader cat 12 9k4612 so is comparable enough to mine 8T15407 that the parts would match ?
Thanks
Paul

Hello , 5B6637 is a part number not a serial number , someone with equitant serial book will help the grader serial numbers

Ok thanks I’ll look for one stamped on the block. I heard this site has manuals stored online for some of the equipment?
Thanks

Hi Paul

Please see this thread...
NEW ACMOC Members Library - ACMOC Bulletin Board - Antique Caterpillar Machinery Owners Club
The library has just been launched and does have a range of Parts Catalogs for Graders. These are available to read on-line but not I'm afraid for download or printing out in full.
The library is located in the members area.

The numbers cast into cast parts ARE NOT PARTS NUMBERS, adds a lot of confusion. I believe it has been stated they can be very close to parts numbers, but don't have to be.

Cat was good about stamping serial numbers into the base part under the serial number tags that are riveted on. The 40's and 50's era engines got the serial number near where the mag is mounted.

hi Paul, the library is in the members area of the main website not the Forum. We will shortly replace the old technical library heading on the forum with a link to the new library in the members area.
